

| Juan Polvillo’s artistic background surpasses twenty years of academic and choreographic studies, with famous flamenco masters, such as: Farruco, Manolo Marín, Manolete, La Toná, and Matilde Coral. Some of his achievements in the flamenco world include: First Place, by Sevillanas, Premio Enrique el Cojo Price, Sevilla, Spain, 1990 First Place, by Tarantos, Premio Festival Flamenco de Ubrique Price, Cádiz, Spain, 1991 First Place, by Alegrías, Premio Festival Flamenco de San Pedro de Alcántara Price, Málaga, Spain, 1992 Second place by Tarantos. Premio Festival internacional de las minas, La Unión. Spain, 2004. He danced at the Bienal de Flamenco, (Sevilla, Spain), in two occasions. In 1997 he went on tour through the Netherlands and Belgium as the first dancer for the Fiesta Gitana de Curro Vélez Flamenco Group, with artists like Carmen Montoya and La Coneja. He has danced in many countries, for personalities like King Hussein of Jordan, King Hassan II of Morocco, the King and Queen of Spain, George Bush, ex-president of the United States of America, and Pope John Paul II. He has also ventured in movies: Carlos Saura’s “Sevillanas” and “Montoyas y Tarantos”. |
